Large beach of Essaouira: the school spot

The main beach is the easiest place to start. It is wide, easy to access from the medina and the KSE base, with enough space for briefings, choice of equipment and initial manipulations. For beginners, this simplicity matters as much as the wind or the waves.

When surfing, we look for the softest sandbanks and regular foam areas. In kiting, you choose the area according to the wind of the day, the number of people and the level of the group. The goal is to progress without feeling stuck, with a instructor that keeps a clear reading of the environment.

  • Ideal for first surfing and kitesurfing lessons.
  • Quick access from the base and accommodation in town.
  • Sandy bottom and large beach to install equipment.
  • Good starting point before heading out to neighboring spots.

Diabat and Sidi Kaouki: leaving the bay

Diabat allows you to keep the Essaouira spirit with a little more space and a wilder feeling. The spot can be interesting for riders who already have the basics, especially when you want to avoid the busiest areas of the central beach.

Sidi Kaouki, about 30 minutes away, is a true classic of the region. In surfing, it often offers more regular and open waves. When kiting, it requires serious reading of the wind, swell and currents. We go there when the level of the group and the conditions match.

Moulay and Imsouane: when the level rises

Moulay Bouzerktoun is a legendary spot for experienced riders. The conditions can be magnificent, but they do not forgive approximations: strong wind, waves, rocks, reading the water conditions is essential. This is not an introductory spot.

Imsouane is different: we mainly go there for long waves and surf trips. The journey is longer, but the experience is worth the trip when the swell is in the right direction. For an intermediate surfer, this is often one of the most memorable days of the trip.

How KSE chooses the spot of the day

Safety First

We check wind, swell, tide, current, attendance and exit zone before confirming.

Progress then

The spot must allow you to work on the objective of the day, not just to take a beautiful photo.

Pleasure at last

When several options are safe, we choose the one that will give the best session.

Actual group level

A trip becomes relevant when the foundations are solid and autonomy follows.
